Summer Study Scholarships
**Scholarship to resume in 2025**
The Chamber Artists of Southeast Michigan are proud offer our annual Summer Study Scholarship Awards! Our CASM Artists believe that studying music is an integral part of any community and encourages students to learn critical life skills such as discipline, problem solving, teamwork, and how to constantly strive for the highest quality of performance in life without shortcuts. We are excited to offer two scholarship awards of $250 each, one to be applied towards summer study and one for graduating seniors to be used for college expenses (instrument repair or starting a fund to purchase a new instrument).
Both of our scholarships are open to any high school student (entering grades 9-12) attending a school in Downriver, MI. Former CASM Summer Scholarship recipients are not eligible for these scholarships. Students MUST be a part of their school music programs and a letter of recommendation from their classroom school teacher is required as part of the application. Downriver is defined as; Allen Park, Brownstown Township, Ecorse, Flat Rock, Gibraltar, Grosse Ile Township, Huron Charter Township, Lincoln Park, Melvindale, River Rouge, Riverview, Rockwood, Romulus, Southgate, Taylor, Trenton, Woodhaven, and Wyandotte.
It is the hope of the CASM Artists that by gathering knowledge and interacting with people, places, and ideas in a structured musical activity that students will be able to return and add a new level of enrichment to the schools and programs they currently are a part of. As ambassadors and representatives of the Downriver area, these students will also serve as beacons of the community showing the world just how bright our students shine.
